Vincent Paris "La Geynale" Cornas '23

La Geynale is the crown jewel of Vincent Paris' Northern Rhône syrahs, sourced from a tiny parcel on the Eastern edge of the acclaimed Reynard lieu dit, often considered Cornas' answer to a Grand Cru.

From a selection of incredibly old vines planted in 1910 and given to Vincent by his uncle, the winemaker Robert Michel, this is a Cornas built for superlatives. It has all the tasting notes you might expect - game, tapenade, violets, herbs, spice - and all accompanied by adjectives like "intense," "wild," "powerful." 

For this bottling, Paris uses only old oak for his aging, the better to show the incredible nuance and character brought by these old vines already in their second century.
